Privacy policy

Scope and RemitCheap's role

RemitCheap compares estimated quotes from remittance providers. It does not send money, maintain user accounts, hold funds, or process payments or transfers.

Information we process

• Comparison requests: origin and destination country, amount, currency, payment or delivery methods, and first-time pricing preference. Do not provide card or bank account numbers, passwords, identity documents, or other sensitive information.
• Mobile app preferences: language, theme, and comparison selections may be stored locally on your device. RemitCheap does not receive this information merely because it is stored locally.
• Provider selections: when you open a provider website, we may receive the selected provider and corridor to measure aggregate interest. The event is not linked to a RemitCheap account because RemitCheap does not offer user accounts.
• Website analytics: Google Analytics may receive pages visited, actions, browser and device information, approximate location, and cookie or device identifiers. The mobile apps do not currently include the Google Analytics SDK.
• Infrastructure logs: hosting and security systems may log timestamps, IP addresses, requested methods and URLs, status codes, user agents, and basic request metadata for security and troubleshooting. RemitCheap does not write an application log for each ChatGPT tool invocation.

How we use information

We use this information to return comparisons, keep the service secure and reliable, investigate errors, and understand aggregate service use and provider interest. We do not sell personal information or use it to execute a transfer.

Recipients and external services

We share information only as needed with Fly.io for hosting, Google for analytics, and OpenAI to operate the ChatGPT experience. Each processes information under its own terms. If you open a provider website, that provider receives parameters included in the link and normal web-request data; its privacy policy applies from that point onward.

Retention

RemitCheap does not store full conversation text or payment details. We retain identifiable infrastructure logs for up to 30 days unless they are needed longer to investigate abuse or a security incident. Google Analytics event data is retained for up to 14 months; aggregate reports and provider-selection events may remain longer.

Your choices and controls

• You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
• You can use Google's Analytics opt-out add-on or browser privacy controls.
• You can request access or deletion by emailing privacy@remitcheap.com.
